Justice League of America (JLA)
The Justice League of America is a part of the Justice League operating within the boundaries of North America. Formed by Batman in response to a growing concern that the Justice League was spreading itself too thinly to properly defend their nation, the JLA was formed for those wishing to limit their actiivities to domestic affairs.
The Justice League of America is made up mostly of reservist members of the Justice League and serves as a secondary line of defence in case of alien invasion. For the most part they deal with criminals operating above the level of the police.
